Welcome!

Welcome to [info]ahogetalia, a Hetalia community dedicated to picspams! Basically share all the pretty Hetalia pictures you have saved on your computer with the rest of the world.

RULES.

➨ There's no limit to what you can post, how often and how many pics you share. Your picspam can have a certain theme (like a Picspam of just America or one dedicated to France/UK, etc.) but it's not required. However, be sure to place everything under an lj-cut! If you don't know how to make one, use this:

➨ Tag your posts so that everything will be much easier to find later on. You tag your post according to which characters appear in your picspam but if your post has a large variety of nations/pairings, simply use the all nations tag.

➨ Play nice! Don't bitch at other people's picspams just because you don't like a certain character or pairing. I mean, I might not be a big fan of certain pairings but if you got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. People are entitled to their opinions so we should respect that... and all that shit. w/e

➨ Give credit where credit is due, whenever possible! Though this community is basically "steal fanart, post, ???, PROFIT!" We don't wanna look all that sleazy. Credit the artist and link back to the original page if you can and if the artist somehow contacts you to take down their work, please abide by that request! Also, if you can before hand, try to ask permission from the original artist somehow if you can post pics here.

➨ Please f-lock your posts!

➨ It's okay if you are unable to find/remember the source for a certain pic but I don't want to see entire posts going without credit. These posts will be deleted within 24 hours if you can't adjust your post accordingly.

➨ Don't hotlink! Likewise, when you post your picspams, be sure to host your images on a place like imageshack or photobucket so that you don't steal bandwidth from the original artist.

➨ R-18 and NC17 material are allowed but be sure to give warnings for any of that kind of material and specify whether it's for nudity/sexual concepts or gore/violence. Also, if your picspam is a mixture of worksafe and non-worksafe material, try to separate the two into separate batches/lj cuts in case people wanna look at one batch but not the other.

➨ If you have any questions, concerns, advice to improve the community, etc. feel free to PM me.

Ah, if I may throw in an idea?

After browsing through the first post, it crossed my mind that perhaps people with a mixture of mature and non-mature art should separate them into groups and put them under different cuts. Maybe not so much as a rule as simply a suggestion; makes it easier to know what you're looking at. ;]

In any case, I'm so glad to finally have a community like this!! :D ♥ *glee*

Thank you for the suggestion!

I was also thinking of that idea when I was just looking over my first picspam. People would probably be taken surprise by "Oh nice pictures, nice pictures, SUDDENLY PORN." so I've decided to add a rule about separating the worksafe and non-worksafe art. (I'll have to edit my first post as well~)

Once again, thanks so much for putting that idea out there. :)

I suggest an addition tothe rules for every single post in this community should be put under friends-lock. That way angry artists won't find this community and say, ban all IP coming from foreign countries to their site(this mostly applies to Japanese art sites).

Frankly I think a community that runs on a "steal fanart, post, ???, PROFIT!" style is a bit tactless. If someone were to steal from you first without asking and only give back what they stole after they've been caught you'd be pretty angry too right? A lot of artists don't care whether they are credited or not(they won't know they are getting credited if they don't know what you are doing with their work in the first place), what they DO care about is that permission is asked for beforehand.

Oh wow, that's a really good suggestion!

Yeah, that was one of my main concerns when I made this community. Most people just save random fanart that they like without bothering to ask permission or anything and with the sheer amount of fanart that everyone saves, they'd mostly find it tedious to ask every single one of those fan artists for permission to use them.

Unfortunately I'm mostly guilty for this as well so the only thing I could add to the rules is the clause of at least attempting to ask permission before posting. I dunno how many people will follow that clause though. o3o

Though I've also added the f-lock rule~

Thank you for both your honesty and the suggestion. Feel free to add/suggest more if you can. This is good stuff. :)

I don't usually but if I come across something I really like I'd save it as well, but the problem isn't saving the picture but that by reposting it you'll be found out (lol).

Language barrier and refusal of permission might make the rule to ask about permission a bit useless so the best thing for this community would be to keep everything hush hush.

And ya, I hope I didn't come off as stuck-up in my last post ^ ^

That's true~ Though I'm hoping that people who are somehow still able to ask permission do so if their conscience bugs them enough, haha. But I'll take that idea to heart about keeping the comm a bit under the radar. I wouldn't to deprive the fans of fantastic fan art after all. :)

No, no you didn't sound stuck-up at all. Truthful suggestions like that are exactly what I need in order to properly run a community. Thanks! ♥

Sounds promising! And looks like it could be a great resource.
